Born and raised in the suburbs of Chicago, she moved to New York City for her undergraduate education, where she caught the travel bug after studying abroad in Prague, Czech Republic. Knowing that she wanted to prioritize travel as a tool for education, Veena graduated a semester early with a plan to travel the world solo for six months. Her trip spanned six months, five continents, and nearly thirty countries and changed the way she sees the world around her.
